The Lightbulb Moment
My obsession with sea minerals began all the way back in 1999.
It was Jerry, a 73 year old Dutch farmer, who introduced me to them on a farm in the Australian outback.

Jerry had somehow found a way to harness the power of the ocean's natural minerals. Incredible. Upon hearing about Jerry’s sea mineral discovery, I was intrigued.
The very next week I flew out to Jerry’s farm to meet him. He gave me the run down on the minerals and how they work. Long story short, I took some home with me to try.
What the hell, I thought. It's worth a shot.
A few weeks later, I felt incredible. My skin was glowing, my energy levels were through the roof and my body, across the board, felt like it was a finely tuned machine.
Wow, I thought to myself, this stuff must really be something.
And, just like that, my lifelong obsession with sea minerals began.

Over the next few years Jerry and I started working together. I dived head first into sea minerals. I learned everything I could about them, the manufacturing process and the human bodies electrolyte requirements.
I kept tinkering and experimenting away.
In 2006, after many experiments, we started exploring how we could effectively mix the sea minerals with real fruit flavouring. It was an incredibly frustrating process and one that we weren't making any progress in.
I got frustrated and figured that we'd have to wait for science to catch up before we could pull a procedure like this off.
Fast forward almost a decade to 2015. I had a few kids and got so busy with life that I had almost forgotten about my incredible sea mineral mixture.
I was on Christmas Holidays in Noosa Heads, Queensland. It was an incredibly humid sunny day, typical of a Queensland summer, and I was sitting indoors with absolutely nothing to do.
I randomly thought about the sea minerals. Maybe it would be worth giving it a shot again, I thought. So, I drove the two hours back to Brisbane to pick up my sea mineral bag of tricks and returned to Noosa.
I started playing around with the formula, trying to mix the sea minerals with real fruit and some sugar. My tinkering was to no avail, the mixture was too clumpy and impossible to drink. But, I thought to myself, there has to be a way to make this work.
A few months later I had to visit Colorado for some business. As I had started doing, I brought my sea mineral bag of tricks with me in case I got bored again.
Sitting in a barn in the middle of the desert in Colorado, I pulled my bag of tricks out and started playing around. Again, I tried to mix the sea minerals with real fruit and a dash of sugar and, as fate would have it, it finally worked.
Eureka, I screamed, I’ve done it. It blended perfectly.
It got me thinking, why did it suddenly blend so well? I did some research and it turns out that Colorado is around 3,500 ft above sea level, meaning that it's an incredibly dry landscape with very low humidity.
So, blending was all about the environment.
Now
We recently moved in to our state of the art blending facility in Brisbane, Australia.
We've (finally) perfected the process and have created an optimal blending environment.
At last, over a decade later, my creation comes to light and Edge Electrolytes is born.

Over the past 3 years we’ve worked on perfecting our cOMx® formula.
We've blended thousands of successful batches and have ruined many thousands more. But, in the end, we nailed it. We (finally) created the perfect and optimal blending environment.
We've recently moved in to our state of the art blending facility, where we strictly control the temperature and humidity in each securely, sealed off room.
You could say that we've recreated the Colorado desert, only a little less sandy.
We’re at the forefront of the electrolyte and hydration game and nothing makes me happier than seeing athletes pushing their limits using Edge.
